Following in the footsteps of YMC, Lou Dalton and Christopher Shannon, British menswear brand Blood Brother is the latest designer to collaborate with River Island for their Design Forum. Since its launch in 2012, the Design Forum has provided a platform for exciting design talent by bringing exclusive collections which push the boundaries of fashion to the high street.
“River Island gave us the freedom to delve into our design universe and we worked very closely with the design team” said Blood Brother’s Creative Director, Nick Biela. “We strived to create a collection that not only stays true to our core design aesthetic, but appeals to River Island’s global audience”.
Cutting-edge print techniques, fabrications and vintage streetwear references were the starting point for this collection. Fusing contemporary fashion design with comfort and functionality, this 11-piece collection of ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories showcases Blood Brother’s ability to reinterpret traditional military apparel and garment construction.
The collection’s muted colour palette of black, indigo and grey is offset by accents of hi-vis orange. Graphic warning slogans and CCTV glitch prints are emblazoned across oversized t-shirts, hoodies and beanie hats.
